From Yarmouth, NS

Follow the "Lighthouse Route" 103. Take notice when you see signs for the exit to Bridgewater. The most direct route is to take Exit 11 and turn right on Highway 324 to Blockhouse, then turn left at the four-way stop on #325 toward Mahone Bay

This will take you through an attractive commercial section in Mahone Bay, i.e. Joann's Market (organic and home-made delicious goodies), Save Easy Supermarket and the Nova Scotia Liquor Store. If you are thinking of picking up groceries, this is the best spot... you are about 10 minutes from Buttercup Lane Cottages.

Leaving Mahone Bay on Main Street, you follow along the beautiful bay (Lighthouse Route #3) towards Lunenburg. Take Note: after entering Mader's Cove, notice when the road starts to leave the water, it's important that you turn left on Mader's Cove Road heading towards Herman's Island. At the intersection with a stop sign, turn left towards Herman's Island. Turn right (almost immediately) into our driveway marked by our sign where you'll see your bright yellow cottage waiting!

From Halifax, NS: approximately 1 hour 10 minutes

Follow Lighthouse Route 103 to Exit 10, turn right towards Mahone Bay, where you will be in about 3 minutes. From there, follow the directions above.
